Factory subwoofer pops upon startup

My sub pops upon startup, has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it?

It is a factory sub and factory amp in a Ford F-150, used Metra harness (2251) that included extra harness for amp. I connected the remote wire and RCA cables to 900BT. The amp turns on and powers the sub but makes a loud popping noise upon system startup. Not only is it annoying but I have the fear at some point that it could ruin the amp/sub and I would like to avoid that.

Thanks for the help.

Try putting a 1 K ohm (or maybe a 2 K ohm) resistor in series with the remote turn on line to the amp.

1K ohm resistor on the SRC wire will do the trick.

Thank you both.

This is a much better solution:

It's from Ducatiboy on the Z series forum.

Why pay more when you don't have to? A 1K Ohm resistor has been proven to work over and over here, especially on Ford's.

Worked perfect on my 2005 Aviator...I used 2k.

The resistor is simpler and therefore slightly less likely to ever fail, but to each their own...

This is what worked on my Lincoln.

That's what i originally bought, but it didn't do the trick. Maybe it was defective, but either that or a resistor will work.
