I just purchased an f90bt, installed it with the Scosche factory adapter unit... Well, the scosche unit flashes a green light, but the F90BT doesn't power up at all.

I have confirmed the solid yellow line has power, and the ground is good. Shouldn't that be enough to get the unit to atleast power up? Or could another cable be causing it not to power up?

Is it possible my unit was DOA? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If it matters, i'm installing in a 2003 4runner ltd.

words words words

Did you think that those wires were optional?

The RED wire goes to the wire labeled "Accessory" on your vehicle harnass. Since you didn't hook it up, its safe to assume you know dick-all about radios so take notes.

The GREEN wire needs to be either hooked up to the parking brake or grounded out if you're going to proceed with the software or hardware bypass

The PINK wire needs to be hooked up to the vehicles VSS which may be on the vehicle harnass or might be tucked away in some pain-in-the-ass location; this is vehicle specific so you'll need to google for the answer

The PURPLE wire needs to be run to the trunk to be tied in with the +12v reverse light; this is optional if you don't plan on setting up a backup camera.

The YELLOW wire needs to be hooked up to a constant +12v source. Make sure you don't reverse the roles of the YELLOW and RED wires; this is important!

There are two BLUE wires; one goes to your radio antenna amplifier if your vehicle has one, the other supplies power to your amps if you have any.
