Are we sure that this remote will work with Pioneer units even though it is made by Sony?

Yes it will work. Many people here have used it.

Pioneer and Sony use the same remote signals and yes, it is confirmed to work with the exception of the OFF button which just turns the source to off, not the HU itself. I believe the SET button doesn't work either, but I can't remember for sure
