Everything else works fine, but the voice no longer speaks and there is no sound when I push buttons like MENU, etc.

I have it bypassed using the mute mod.

Worked fine for a few weeks, now this. Any ideas?

I have not done any other mods. It came out of the box with the latest 2.0 firmware. Only other thing I did was upload a splash image using the avicfeeds software.

If you're using an amp, make sure that you have the front RCAs hooked up, not just the rear.. NAV sound only comes out the front

Also, make sure you have the setting called "Antenna Power" or whatever its called set to "Always On" just in case your amps are hooked up to the antenna control wire, instead of the system remote control wire

You can also try going into the settings for Navi and make sure that the volume is not set at the lowest setting

All those things are OK. I read maybe I should reboot the unit to see if that fixes it?

I will lose all my presets and setting though I assume.

I am 99% sure that any Sat or HDFM presets will remain although AM/FM will not. All your other settings liek your EQ will get wiped though; but its worth a try.

well I reset the unit, also reset my Ipod. Still no voice or sound effects when pressing buttons.

Everything else works, including the front speakers, so I am not sure what the problems is.

To reset a unit you just put a pin in the hole on the front, correct? That is what I did. I did lose EQ and FM presets, etc.

well might have figured it out. I had previously pulled my Onstar fuse because it had been acting weird and I never used it anyway.

I am using one of those expensive GM adapters that let you keep your Onstar and Bose amp functionality, so maybe this requires me to keep my Onstar fuse in if I want to keep the aftermarket deck working properly with the adapter.

Funny thing is though, after I initially pulled the fuse it still worked without problem for a few days. Funny how it would just suddenly quit working days later.

Anyway, I put the Onstar fuse back in and it has started working again, so I am hoping the problem doesn't return.
