f90bt newbie question

I am getting my f90bt installed this week. Does anyone know if this unit supports a backseat video display? If it does can you also keep the iPod hookups intact? Another question if it does support a rear video output is that can the driver listen to sirius or radio while rear passenger watches DVD?

Thanks for any assistance/info

The F90 and F900 both have a "rear video output" RCA jack. Whatever is playing on the screen in the front will be playing on the rear output. The front/back question you asked is referred to as "zoning" and none of the F series do that. The Kenwood DNX8120, DNX7120 and Avic Z series do, though.

Not sure what you were asking about the iPod, try rephrasing the question

Yes, the F series do not support zoning. You'd have to install an AV switch which will allow you to either control everything from the AVIC or just watch the rear video independently. You'd also probably want ear phones and a rear video system with it's own DVD player.

Thanks for the input. I was hoping to be able to listen to the radio while a passenger can watch a movie but k guess I'll just fund a cheap DVD player for that now. My question about the iPod doesn't really matter as I was under the impression that both the iPod and rear video output used the same jack in the back of the video. But after thinking about that doesn't really make sense. Thanks the help.

I wanted to do the same as you, except with Sirius, not an iPod.

I ended up getting an auto-DVD player (i can get a link if you need it) and put it in the front seat console so my wife and I can load up movies for my daughter. I installed some headrest monitors for her and all the audio output goes to a headphone jack in the monitor

I don't particularly LIKE the setup because the DVD player in the console is kind of flakey, this and the bluetooth is one of the reasons I am considering buying a Kenwood DNX8120.. but thats another thread another day ;)

For the amount of times I was going to use the DVD player it will probably not be an issue for me. Thank you for your input. Do you like the unit in general ?

the bluetooth is unusable on my unit and the entire unit needs some fine tuning, but the unit does its job and is pretty efficient
