I'm about to install the f900bt in my Maxima. I have removed the 4 original front door and rear door speakers (the crappy ones with the "amps" on them) and replaced them with aftermarket. I still have the stock rear sub and the two front A-post tweeters. I noticed that the nissan wiring harness has left/right front and rear for a total of 4 speakers.

My question is, will the other three speakers work (two a-post tweeters and sub)? Am I missing something here? :( I'm hoping that the wiring harness will take care of all that but I'm not too sure. Thanks in advance for any help or info.

if you removed the factory amp, they will not work. if you left the amp and all its wiring in place, including wiring to the HU and the door speakers you replaced, then yes, although you may have thrown the whole thing out of balance by changing them.

Each speaker had its own amp and the ones I left in still have their respective amps. The nissan wiring harness will allow me to hook up to the OEM wiring without any splicing. So you say it wont work?

Humm, back to the drawing board...

I really doubt each speaker has its own amp; they might have passive filters or something of the like, but its unlikely that power was run to each speaker for amplification. you're going to have to test and see what happens or find someone with that exact model who already knows the answer

You know what, I checked and the only speaker that has its own amp is the rear deck sub-woofer. Accourding to Bose, each speaker has its own amp, but that is not the case for my year Maxima. When I changed out the 4 speakers, from the info I gathered about the "premium" bose package that came with the car, each had its own amp. I thought nothing of it, but now that you mentioned, I checked and sure enough, no amps except on the rear deck. Bose sucks.... This does make my install easier now. Thanks.

The old Dodge Ram trucks with the infinity system used to have a small amp on each speaker. Really annoying to have to bypass each amp in each door panel. Made us installers lots of money though. Atleast until we figured out that all we had to do was power up the remote turn-on wire...:lol:

JR, first of all, there are only 2 amps (in the front 2 doors) in the Dodge Rams. Second, are you seriously saying that you bypassed the amps in the doors for some period of time before realizing you could just connect the turn on wire when putting a new stereo in? If so, PLEASE remove MECP from your credential list and stop referring to the rest of us as "us installers."

Thank you.

Ok, I finished the install. Everything is good to go. I had a little hiccup with the factory wiring harness, but that was quickly resolved. It works with the factory amplified woofer with no mods or any crap like that, just plug and play.

If anyone is installing in a Nissan/Infinity, I may have some tips for you to avoid any bumps in the install road.

I also used the Scosche double din adaptor kit which made the install possible. All in all, it looks OK. The adaptor is not quite a match in color, and that is bugging the shit out of me. I'm going to get the OEM nissan double din/center console assembly, gotta have that clean look. I'll put some pick up when I get a chance...
