Today i had my f90bt installed. I was on the raod for the first time with it, and attempted to plug in my home address. I realized that all my navigation menu options are FRENCH - But my unit has the setting set to english.

All other menu's are in english except the navigation menu's.

I lok for 30 mins through various menu's, had my mom look at it (she speaks french) and cannot seem o figure out what is up?

Can someone please assist?

Sincerely

Be more specific, do a system reset, that is the little push button next to eject, read the owners manual, front to back. Reset te default language to english, this will make the unit restart.

Also doa factory default reset under the navigation menu.

I have done lal of this:

reset language to english

resetted nav defaults

resetted entire unit

Nothing.

ah, then your sol. return it to place of purchase or try to follow the steps in the hacks forum to reinstall 2.0 update from scratch.

is there not a file for engligh language nav setting?

i believe this happened once prior on this forum - someone deleted the file..............

Why would reinstalling 2.0 bring this back?

How do i go about installing 2.0 from scratch - it is already on there

Do a search in the hacks forum, this should never happen especially on a new unit unless someone f'd it up.

So choices are, check out hacks or return it, obviously something is wrong with it, unless you bought it used or screwed it up yourself.

I never read if you had called Pioneer or not; you should give them a ring and see if they can offer any assistance.

not yet, this happned yesterday and like anyone im trying to find a solution now, before i call them.

Is there a backup cd that comes with these units?

The only cd i got is the operation manual

haha, backup cd. That was funny.

Posted Dec 24, 2008 · 18:43 UTC#12

guess not

Eh, no there isn't a backup cd.

I am still not quite sure what your issue is, languages only in the navigation menu come up in french, but everywhere else is english?

That is quite an issue, my guess is you selected french upon initial bootup, in the user manual it says how to fix this.

but if you already tried all that, then eh, its defective, call pioneer ask them what to do, its such a weird problem i doub tanyone here can help you.
