Issues with a Z1

We've been having several issues with the unit, but now the unit doesn't turn on... at all.

Initially, the parking brake wire kept having issues, the GPS isn't accurate, and the unit always says excessive vibration.

Now, the unit doesn't even turn on. We were trying to install a CDI-B100II but when we tried turning on the unit, it just didn't work. No fan spinning, no LCD response, no lights on.

It might have been a wire short, but the fuse is still fine on the battery wire, so it shouldn't have shorted out the unit... right?

Please help! :)

Thanks,

Sameer

The power or ground probably came loose while you were trying to install the ipod adaptor

Just checked the wires, they're all connected.

Is it possible to short out the ground wire itself?

Grab a meter and check if you are getting power/ground at the harness

Turns out a fuse under the hood went out. Unit's back to itself... Thanks guys.

Anyone else have suggestions on the inaccurate GPS? And the parking brake wire is still annoying me with "Improper lead".

Where is your antenna located? For the parking brake thingy, either wire it up like the manual says, or do the bypass described in detail in the hacks/mods Z-series section of this here forum

Yeah, we just moved the antenna from the top of the unit to the windshield. It should get better reception now.
