Hey guys,

New to the site as I am looking to buy an Avic Z3. My question is: does the Z3 allow you to change the color of the lower buttons. From pictures I see that they are blue, but I really like the feature some Kenwoods have where you can custom pick the color scheme to match your interior.

Thanks

No, only the D3 and F-series do

thank you, but is there a way to hack it?

I really like the Z series for the size of the screen, but would hate the blue buttons..it'll look really odd

So get 12 PLCC2 Led's in the color of your choice, a fine point soldering gun, thin solder (0.030 diameter would be suitable) and very pointy needlenose pliers, and go for it

Lol, just kidding, but not really. There's no 'hack' for the Z series button colors, only replacing the LED's on the circuit board. You can go to that link that djmixmac provided and see for yourself, but with any soldering experience, it's not a hard job.
