Question on Voice Recognition and USB Storage Device.

I was looking mainly into the F900 or F90, seeing as I wanted the DVD playback. Then I came across that the F700 can play movies off the iPod (Correct me if this is wrong). Considering I have a few individual movies that I'd rather watch, it's not a big deal as long as the iPod can play them. One of my questions was if the voice recognition works for both songs and movies from the iPod?

My second question was if I decided to use a USB powered hard drive, would the voice recognition work for that was well? If not, is there a separate interface on the unit if these are connect so I can navigate through its contents?

Thanks

iPod videos will play on all the F series units, make sure you get the correct cable since just plain ole USB doesn't work. To my best knowledge, voice recognition works the same for videos as it does music.

USB is a bit different. First off, USB hard drives are not officially supported.. some members have gotten a handful of devices to work but it requires external power and only some controllers are supported. A regular USB memory stick is supported though and works well. Voice control for USB is not currently supported and you will have to either use playlists (m3u) or the touch screen interface. Not as cool as iPod control, but still functional

Alright, with that said, if I am running a video (on the f700) on my iPod or a flash drive, is it still possible to fast forward through the screen? Or do I have to reach into my glove box, pull the iPod out, and fast forward?

Also, is the playback library on the F700 fairly large? Will it play just about every video format or is it limited? I don't want to have to be sitting at my computer converting all day.

Thanks for the quick response btw.

iPod interface is through steering wheel controls or the touch screen, ie, integrated.

I assume about movie formats you mean a USB drive; its pretty limited, DivX. Someone figured out how to do XviD but its a real pain. Can't open my manual right now to confirm this but it does state in the manual on the Pioneer website if you want to go download to read for yourself
