It doesn't charge your ipod so I am assuming it is the white ipod connector on one end, and standard audio/video out on the other (red, white, and yellow RCA connections.)

i emailed him, he said there is a hard wire that will charge the ipod...

I have to say, I have absolutely no idea what the hell that means.

if so, how does it work?

It's just a video cable. You can't control the iPod through the radio using this. You would have to mount your iPod somewhere that you could control it and use the iPod's controls and screen to pick the music/videos to play.
