F900BT needs an external xm module. I have a D2 currently in my truck with an XM addon... Does any one know if that will work on the new F900BT or do I have to buy a new XM Module also??

Cheers

You didn't post what the model number is of the one you have now so its impossible to say. Easiest thing to do will be to order the new F series and see if your existing XM interface works.. if not, order the replacement.

GEX-P10XMT is what I have currently.....

I think the model you posted is the XM tuner with NavTraffic. XM NavTraffic doesn't work with the F series so I'm not sure if that tuner will be compatible. I would suggest just cross your fingers and hope for the best.

I don't have the Navtraffic Unit... Its just the Standard unit...

It will work fine for music. No traffic though

So just to spell it out.

Will the GEX-P10XMT work on the F90BT for music only? The reason I ask, I am replacing a failed D3 with an F90BT.

I am going to try but it would be nice to know ahead of time if I am wasting my time trying.

I read your post, so you have personally made the GEX-P10XMT work on the F90BT ?

Camel,

Thanks... If the XM Module is plugged in can the Ipod cable still be used on the 900bt?

Thanks

Yes, XM is p-bus. Ipod adaptor is RCAs and USB

Posted Dec 29, 2008 · 05:27 UTC#13

Thanks again for the answers.... I was seeing somewhere that there is a Pbus Ipod adapter for the F series... I am guessing that is not the one I want to buy?? Since the XM mod will take up the Pbus slot

You can also plug in a USB flash drive for playing music/video files or uploading files including custom splash screens.

Ipod's don't have USB connections on them. They have that custom Mac connection that is on that cable. So what are you plugging the USB part into?

Like the other person said is it just there for USB drives for Movies and additional Music?

The Pioneer Ipod cable is attached to the F series via a USB AND RCA's.

One one end you have the Apple connector (goes in to the Ipod) on the other end you have a USB connector (male) and RCA connectors. It is my understanding that the USB is used for charging the Ipod and controlling it, where as the RCA's are strictly for media transfer.

Look at the cable that was posted a few posts back... That should explain it.

I got it now... There is a USB port on the back for the cable... Makes sense so it can charge...

Thanks for the help guys..

Just wanted to confirm that the F90BT and GEX-P10XMT work together to allow you to get XM music only, no traffic (no data port on the F90BT). I activated it tonight with my new F90BT and it's working great.
