I just installed the ipod interface and now the volume is constant and wont go Up or Down. Its only with the iPod too. On a CD or the radio, I can adjust the volume, but not with the iPod. Any insight?

Heres what I did-

USB to USB to Red Audio, White Audio, Yellow Video to back of F700BT

Anyone know why?

hmm, ill go check right now

edit: its set to iPod and still cannot adjust the volume...if I turn the volume up on the F700 i just hear the speakers starting to hiss a little...when I turn it down to 0 its fine..

did you use the 16pin connector thing? or useing the actualy USB?

Dumb question i guess, but im tryin to figure it out, i dont have mine hooked up yet, but it basicly seems like your not getting a audio imput signal to your HU....the hissing sound is the feedback getting louder with nothing else happening (not sure if i explained that right, but it makes sense in my head)

ooo...another question, which gen Ipod are you using?

Im using the CDIU23V or whatever. It has a USB with 3 RCAs. The USB from the interface is connected to the USB connected to the back of the F700 which comes preconnected. The 3 RCAs are as follows: Red and White are connected to the Audio Input, and the Yellow RCA is connected to the video input (comes right from the manual). EVerything plays fine, the iPod works, all controls work, etc. I AM getting sound from the iPod, it does play music. I just am unable to adjust the volume. Its at a constant volume level that I am unable to adjust.

Im using the 3rd gen iPod Nano, i think...the one before the most recent

You need to eliminate the ipod and cable to rule out the head unit, im assuming this is a problem with the ipod connector either on the ipod itself or the cable.

Try a friends ipod on the same cable, if it does the same thing, buy an apple a/v compsoite cable from your local electronics store, if it still does the same thing even with a different ipod and cable its a setting on the head unit or a defective head unit.

Also perhaps double check you have the cables plugged into the proper port in the rear a/v input. The calbes should be clearly marked ipod or av1, that is the rear rca cables, that are yellow, red and white coming out of the back of the head unit, if these were plugged into the wrong set, that will be a good indicator of these symptoms. And you wouldn't even know since the usb will work the same regardless. Just won't hear the audio.

sounds good...i know the rca's are plugged in correctly...red and white into the audio input and the yellow in the video input
