I am just curious if there is interest in finding a way to install Slingplayer Mobile in our F series?

The latest release of Slingplayer Mobile supports 800x480 resolution. I have been reading some about ethernet support in CE and from what I gather the support for ethernet is built into CE?

I picked up a simple USB 10/100 ethernet adapter today at Fry's and was going to see how the HU reacts to it.

But I would like to replace Sirius icon with a Slingplayer icon and install it into the unit.

I don't have the know how so I would need some help with this.

So to add some info to this. I bought a AirLink 101 ASOHOUSB Fast Ethernet USB 2.0 Adapter. This unit uses the ASIX ax88772a chip which does have a WinCE 5.0 driver provided from ASIX website http://www.asix.com.tw/products.php?op=pItemdetail&PItemID=97;71;101&PLine=71.

Maybe Leet or one of the CE experts could take a look at the pdf file they provide on installing this driver and make it make sense? I tried to read it and compare it to the files that I backed up from my F700 but am having a tough time.

This would be the fist step to getting an internet connection to the F series. My D-Link DIR-450 is with a EVDO card is already mounted in the trunk and ready to go.

I realize this is not exactly what you want but if you get a htc touch you can have the slingbox work on that and output the video and audio out to your av input on the f series.

Yes. There are many different ways to do this. I currently have in my other car a full blown Windows PC that I bought from mini-box.

I was also looking at the Samsung Omnia which has a A/V out. But I would like to make it a little more integrated than that.

This would also allow for internet browsing with a browser like Opera or one of those. I will post the pdf file that has the instructions for adding the driver and see if someone can make sense of it.
