I dont know what happened. I hooked it all up yesterday, turned the car on and navi worked and everything. I went away for the night, and then came back in the morning only to find that nothing works. The unit wont turn on and idk if the unit itsself is getting power or what. I checked 6 times to make sure everything was plugged into place correctly and it was. I took it out and the stock head unit worked fine. I now however have lost my dome and map lights, and trunk light along with power locks. No one touched the car at all, and it went from working to not even turning on or any lights working. Please any suggestions would be great! I drive an 06 mitsubishi eclipse gt if that helps at all
HELP D3 WORKED AND NOW IT DOESNT
Check your fuses
I did check most of my fuses. The dome light map light and trunk all run on different fuses and they were all fine. Im going to check the can bus wire, if I can figure out which one it is.
Have you checked the fuses in the engine compartment?
Did you check ALL the fuses with the car on and started? That's the only way to truly check. If all your fuses are fine after that, then probe the pins on the radio harnessand make sure you are indeed getting power to the radio, but I'm certain, like CT said, it's a blown fuse. Fix it and check your wires for any pinches or cuts.
Alright will do thanks .... It's just odd because the stock unit worked perfectly after I took out my d3 to try that again... I'm also afraid the power wire couldve gotten pulled from the aftermarket harness andif all the fuses are fine and such then I'm gonna re wire the harness. I'll be posting soon again I'm sure haha
Went back to work on it today. Now every electronic in the car is shot other than my head/tail lights dash lights and power windows. I lost my temp and clock screen now and also the stock radio doesnt even work. I called best buy and a few other places and the answer I got was the body control module(BCM) any ideas if this might possibly be the case?
is your d3 still hooked up or are you back to stock? Disconnect the battery for about 30min and while its disconnected go through all your fuses again, sometimes fuses can look ok but they are bad. Hopefully after the 30min the BCM with be re-set and work normal again. What kind of vehicle is it?
I just don;t see you frying a BCM from a HU install unless you really crossed some wires but even then you would had to of been pulling wires out from somewhere else besides the factory harness for your stereo. Do you have a amp installed anywhere? Did you pop the main fuse by ground out the power wire to the battery?
Im having the same problem with me d-1 but mine wigged out in front of me and i cant figure it out
