Okay, so please tell me there is an actual MUTE button somewhere on this thing...

Every time I go to hold the knob in to mute, it goes into the VOICE COMMAND! Annoying!!!

It actually might MUTE my system once every 10 tries --- that's ridiculous!

How do you MUTE your entire system?

personally, i don't find it that hard to turn the volume knob, but you could always get a wired remote.

I couldn't agree more - a mute button should've been included, and I can't find a way to "set" the large button to mute rather than go to voice command.

Press and hold the big button, it will mute,

Press it and don't hold it, and it goes to VR

Does the big button mute the navigation guidance volume as well? Samantha always speaks up when I am on the phone (not linked to the BT). I am too intimidated to try the mute button on the screen mod.

I'm thinking there's no way that would work since pressing the big button is also the call hang up when you have a call engaged.

When I am not using the BT (disconnected), on a wired headset. Just using the NAV Guidance function. Does the big button mute the guidance?

If your phone isn't paired to the AVIC, then no, it wouldn't, if it's paired, I'd say you have a 50/50 shot.. try it on an unimportant call ;0
