Door Chime Problem

Stangest thing has happened... I've had my Z-2 for more than 2 years, and upgraded the drive to a Z-3 about 6 months ago. Everything has always worked perfectly..... The last 3-4 days, my car is VERY SLOW to turn over.... almost like the battery is nearly dead. Today, same thing.... but an added surprise. Today, the Door Chime just about blew my eardrums out.... I checked all the settings on the Z3, and the volume levels were all the same. Everything works perfectly on the Z3 as before. However, now when the volume on the Z3 is moved up to 4 or 5, it's too loud. Before, I would have to go all the way up to 20+ for it to be too loud. I haven't opened up the Dash..... thought I'd ask for some help/advice first??

I think I figured it out..... I concluded it had to be either a Bad Battery, or Alternator going bad. Today, it cranked fine, and the door chime and radio were back to normal volumes. I took it to have the alternator and battery checked. They said my Battery was just about DEAD..... although it was showing full 18 Volts when I checked it... they said the AMPS were nearly non-existent.

If the problem re-surfaces in the next few days, I'll post it here..... otherwise, chalk this strange problem up to a Bad Battery.

It's supposed to have a max of arround 14.5 Volts, so 18 Volts is way to high :? .... Count yourself lucky all the electronics still work...
