do I need a kit for a 2002 Accord?

Hi,
Has anyone done (or know the answers to my question anyway) an install of the Z1 on a 2002 Honda Accord? I think it will fit (although confirmation would be nice), but I don't know if it'll require a separate kit to mount it or not. The reason I'm guessing it might is because of the kits that are out there saying that they will fit in the Accord if we need to mount a double din stereo. Here's one example of the kit:

This makes me wonder, if there's a kit for it, then I probably need it to mount the Z1 right? However, I called a company where I'm ordering the Z1 from and they said I don't need anything to mount it and that it'll fit right into my car. I'm just guessing, but is the kit maybe just to make it look more factory? Sorry in advance because I know this sounds like a complete newbie question, but I'm pretty lost and it's my first time installing anything into my car. Thanks.

First, I don't have a honda so I know know 100% for sure...

I don't have all the specs on your car, but Crutchfield says it will fit, you might want to check their web site and put your car's specifics in and see, but they list your harness as:

Also that metra link says 2002 accord and it looks good. If you can put in one of those mounting kits it should fit.

And you want to mounting kit. It's not "absolutely necessary" but the Z1 will mount to it and then it will mount into your car and fill any gaps in the dash board, trust me, if they make a mounting kit, you want it.

You will also want a wiring harness as well.

Oh, ok.. thanks. The Z1 vendor I'm getting it from is including the wiring harness, so I don't need to buy that. As for the mounting kit though, should I get the Crutchfield one in your link or the Metra one in my link? I don't see any significant differences in the look, and they're the same price too, so I'll go with whichever you recommend since you know what you're talking about. Let me know and thanks again in advance for all your help today.

To be honest, they are probably the exact same thing. Metra might even make the ones for Crutchfield. It really doesn't matter.

Oh ok, thanks.

Well, I have ONE last issue to decide over now. So far I know I'm ordering the Z1 (obviously), the bluetooth adapter, the ipod adapter, your circuit bypass thing since its the June model, and a rear-view camera.

I've been reading all over these forums and still can't decide what I want though for the camera. I'm still going to do some more research and check some more prices, but again, I'd like your opinion/recommendations on this too if you don't mind (sorry). Basically, I'm looking for something that hides well because I don't want it constantly looked at and then eventually stolen. Picture quality should also be decent at least since I do plan on using the half screen mode where we can view the camera while driving forward as well. I looked at the Pioneer one and it just seems so big to be able to hide it really above the license plate. I'm guessing I'll probably have to get one of those barrel type ones. I'll look around too, but if you could, please give me your top pick and other recommendations for these. Thanks.

I have a pioneer one, it was expensive, and it's big, but the picture quality is just fine. I have never had any other back up camera to comapre it to, so my opinion is not the best. But it fit fine on my suv and I went with the pioneer just cause of the name, but maybe someone else can chime in on a good camera... or check out the many threads on cameras.

The mounting kit isn't "completely" needed. You can get away with using the factory radio brackets and mounting the z1 iwth those, the only part of the Using the kits nose piece will give you a slightly nicer looking fit than that plastic trim piece that comes with the z1.
