i have not been able to transfer my contacts to the unit through my phone. i have been able to do it with the first bluetooth software and also with 3 other phones 2 which where windows mobile phones. everytime i try to transfer from the blackberry it crashes the unit and it reboots itself, and some times it freezes my phone. Some one reccomended just putting the files into the unti but i have no idea where to put it

I have the 8310 with the 4.5 OS and the latest update on my F90BT - all I do is go into the phone settings on the F90 and hit transfer my phone book, it will give you the warning "Are you really sure?!?!" - in the phone go to Options - Bluetooth - Click the option button (left of the track ball) - Transfer Address Book, click the "Transfer Address Book" once you see the unit saying something along the lines of waiting or connecting or transferring, or some BS like that, the phone will show that it is complete, however the unit probably will continue to "Transferring Contacts" for a few minutes after that, mine took a good 7 minutes after my phone said it was done. The HU will give you a prompt saying complete - then press OK and you should be good.

i know how to do it but once it starts transferring the f90bt will automatically crash n reboot. when go via the phone. if i try from the unit it will say its transferring and stay on for about 10 seconds and then stop as if i cancelled it. and when i go to check the contacts nothing pops up.

I have not heard of the unit rebooting while transferring contacts. The system is throwing an error somewhere causing it to reboot. I am assuming that you have upgraded to the 2.0 version, if you did, did you update the bluetooth stack at the same time? If you have done any hacks, may want to put your backup flash disk back on your unit and see if that fixes it, then start adding all the mods again, there has to be a missing/corrupt file somewhere.
