Quick install question

This has probably been asked in here, but I searched all three F-Series forums and couldn't find my answer. I am savvy at this car audio stuff, so feel free to be technical. Are there any major changes in wiring from an Avic-D3 to the F-Series, specifically the F90? I'm considering changing from an Avic-D3 to a F90 and want to know if I need to re-wire anything or if I can just plug the new one in. I have the CD-i200 Ipod cable, Sirius Unit, and Bluetooth unit. Obviously I would be removing my Bluetooth unit for the F-90 install because it's built-in, but do I need to buy a new Ipod cable and/or Sirius unit? Are the wiring harnesses the same? I've seen pics of them through my searches here, but you never know what wires have been switched around from model to model. I will probably use the Software bypass method if I have to rewire the existing bypass method from the D3. Thanks in advance guys. This forum has saved my ass several times on both my D3 and my dad's N4 installs in the past.

This is a simple transition. I moved up to an F90BT from a D3; the Pioneer harness for each is exactly the same - the only difference is if you do the hardwire bypass, which is a different pin location for each unit. I just moved the bypass pin on the existing D3 harness in my car when I installed my F90BT and plugged it in. (See bypass threads for specifics.) Of course, the F90BT comes with an integrated iPod cable, so you don't need the one from the D3. I use an XM box and it plugged right in to the F90BT, so I don't see why your Sirius unit wouldn't as well. And, as you noted, you don't need the Bluetooth box or cable from the D3 setup. Saved a lot of time not having to buy and wire up another harness for the F90!

No, the f series are the successors to the d series.

I did the same thing also, moved up from the D3 to the F90, I just relocated the mute wire for the by-pass, plugged it in, and everythings fine. Like bashed mentioned you'll want to use the iPod cable that comes with the F90 v.s. the one you used with the D3, also I just unplugged my XM tuner from the D3 and plugged it into my F90, and everything works fine there also.
