I have a Z1 for about 2-3 years now.... This has been a problem off and on for some time...

It has been upgraded to Z3 some time ago. I have checked the wiring about 10 times and it all checks out fine... I have an Alpine 4x150 digital amp connected to it....

The problem pretended to be an obvious wiring one, since it only did this on occasion... lose all channels except the FR and can hear the Alt noise... It seemes to happen more and more now.... i send power directly to the battery and been fastidious about grounding.

Has anyone else experienced something similar to this?????

I keep thinking it is a defective head unit...but, i have never been convinced.

Please help me oh great ones..... I have literally re-wired the whole system at least 4 times and checked it at least 10 times.

I recently gave up on the internal bluetooth on the Avic and now use a Parrot unit (the problem was there before and is now).. the reason i mention it is that the harness for the Parrot alllows by-passing the HU and using the speakers directly .... when the Parrot is active, i never get ANY whine on the call... so it suggests the problem is before the harness (HU or Amp)...

Thanks!

I am starting to experience the same problem, except I do not have whining. I have had my Z2 for one year now and the left side is not as loud as the right. It's the whole left side; front, rear, and subwoofer output. I have my installed in an '07 Silverado. I have not torn the dash apart to check wiring. I don't believe it's the wiring due to the fact that the problem exists on the whole left side.

I am using the Z2 to power the front and rear stock speakers and the sub is obviously powered by an amp.

Any suggestions?
