Just steal any other wire that isn't being used. I can't remeber which wire I took but they will all work as long as they aren't being used.

Just use any piece of wire, period. To get the actual Mute to work with Onstar, I needed to replace the mute wire borrowed for the bypass. I took a length of small gauge wire and stuck it in the connector. I left the sheathing on a little so that it stayed in the hole. Still works one year later. You can add some super glue or some clear silicone adhesive if your worried about the wire falling out.
