Hey guys.

I had my D3 professionally installed about a year ago and it has been working fine. Today I start my FJ Cruiser up and my D3 starts to power up like normal, the screen starts to come on and the button lights start to come on like normal. The lights go out and the screen goes black. The screen is on, but black. There is no sound and no control. It's like it is starting to boot up but fails to do so. I tried the reset button and that does the same thing. My installer is out of town this weekend so I figured I would check here.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I noticed something similar in the COLD weather... but works itself out once it gets heated up.

I had the same issue lastnight. I started up the car and screen was black. Re-started the car up again and look like no power at all but came on after a while. Was Freeeeezin outside so that's probably it.

I live in Northern CA and it has barely gone down to the low 40's so I don't think that it was the cold. It miraculously came back on the night before last and has worked fine yesterday and today. It would not power up for about two weeks. I'm happy it's working, but I am still thinking about sending it in to figure out what the issue is and make sure it doesn't happen again.

It may have been a loose ground or power wire. It might just be laying right now.
