I tried it with a remote as well. I'm missing the 16-pin wire harness for "connector 2." I also grounded the mute wire (light green), hand brake wire, and of course regular ground.

 

is that the problem? do i actually need connector 2 wire harness to fix this problem?

lt green is the parking brake wire...

 

The mute wire would need to be moved to the correct location in the 'connector 2' that you are missing in order for the bypass to work.

 

You can not adjust the volume because you grounded the yellow/black mute wire, but did not move it to connector 2 first.

 

Disconnect the mute wire from ground and you will be able to adjust the volume.
