All you should have to do is follow this link: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Support/Navigation/AVIC+F-Series+Firmware+Update+Download

Follow the directions closely and you should be all set.

I swear I looked on Pioneer's site and must not have scrolled down past the main firmware update for the unit. Thanks for the help.

Sort of............ the v2.0 and bluetooth updates are seperate downloads, although what I did was install v2.0 first and then separately install the bluetooth. Had no probs at all.

The update should be listed for download on pioneer's website.

Help me uuderstand this, Just because my 700bt came with the 2.0 firmware upgrade doesnt mean my bluetooth is upgraded to 3.3,

Do I need to upgrade the bluetooth anyway? I am having trouble with my samsung r470 (TWOSTEP). Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance

Yup, you should upgrade BT to v3.3

Is there anywhere in the GUI to check which version you are running?

Like you can check for v2.0.

Yes it is - your screen should display > Version: HW100-SW330 RC3 <

if it's a Euro model that is.

The Software Update tab is for initiating the actual update once your SD card is inserted.

According to the Pioneer website the newest BT version number is HW100-SW330 RC3.

Here is the link again. If you scroll almost to the bottom of the page the BT update version number is listed.

Is the only way it's better due to the fact that it allows IPHONE integration?

When you say 'worse', what do you mean? Performance? Clarity? Compatibility?

So far my Curve is working great on it, so not sure I wanna do the update, unless there is another reason to do it that I'm not aware of...

For us it made a huge difference with our Iphones. We can now download our entire address book without the f700-bt rebooting. Make sure you update the bluetooth after the Firmware update though.

Both of my LG phones, a Chocolate 3 and enV2 worked perfectly with the 3.3 update. I updated the firmware before I ever paired the phone though so I'm not sure if it made a difference or not.
