new bie need help!

some one told me that I can EITHER power the cradle by having a professional install hardwired OR use the dc/cig adapter and power the gps direct. so if I don't want pay extra $ hardwired, I won't be able to hold the unit by cradle in my car dashboard?

Sorry, mis-spoke. I thought that fat hardwire part was attached to the cradle. Its not. So you can use the cradle and winshield mount with the cig adaptor, you just won't get MSN direct

I didn't want to drill any holes in my 3 months old car so I went with the cig adaptor and special mount designed for my car. I couldn't hide all of the cables well but I am willing to accept it.
