im am reading info how to put in testmode for the european model but someone modifying mapinfo UC to EW but someone says when you put in testmode with this the unit automatically overwrites the original and the unit wont start correctly it is this correct?nobody has the original European MapDBInfo.txt ?

I have a 500 and I couldnt do anything until I changed it to EW, and the change is permanent (unless I decide to change it again). I reckon it will probably be the same with your unit, but you won't know until you try.

I have a 900 and did this change, it worked fine and can still get into the standard Pioneer UI without any probs.
