Thinking about F700BT, help?

Hi guys, I've been lurking around the forum for a few days reading up on stuff. I'm trying to decide whether or not to get this unit. My concerns so far are:

- Navigation. I have a Nuvi and it's a great GPS device. I've read up on the D3 and a lot of people say it sucks (coming up with a route that doesn't make sense, lost signal, poor algorithms, etc). How is it on the F700BT?

- Ipod connectivity. Some people have said their Ipods have "died" and that it has buggy connectivity. I listen to my Ipod a lot, and this would be a problem for me.

Those are my two main concerns... it seems like many Pioneer products have problems, either hardware or software so I'm not so sure if I want it or not, thanks.

GPS..

It's no nuvi.. the nuvi's really are spectacular, but it does the job, and I find it gets me where I need to go, but none of the warm and fuzzies the nuvi's give me.

ipod connectivity really isn't an issue, it goes between my 60GB gen 5 ipod that lives in the glovebox and gets used daily, to the occasional hookup to my iphone 3G.

Once every month or two my ipod freezes when the system starts up, but I just turn the ipod off an on again.

My vote? get the F700BT for $398 and enjoy the heck out of it.

Thanks for your reply. I bought my Nuvi for $355 (!) and that almost covers this entire system.

What about the bugs? I know there's a new firmware update for it but it doesn't seem to fix all the issues.

What problems are you concerned with? If you can't wait nine seconds for your back-up camera to come on, ten to twenty seconds for your music to come on, and forty seconds to use your navigation, then this is definitely not the deck for you and you should keep that ugly thing stuck to your windshield. If you let your car warm up every day and all those times sound reasonable, then you will likely be content with it
