ETA: found the manual online!!! THANKS ANYWAY!!!!I HAVE A LOT OF READING TO DO!!!!!

Simply enough, I have the 900bt sitting on my dining room table.

1. I know about the bypass, but, I only want to watch videos in the backseat on another monitor using the video output on the 900bt. Do I need the bypass for this as well?

2. So, when a video is playing, and my daughter is watching a video in the back, will I be able to use the GPS while she is watching the DVD? or does the unit only do one thing at a time. Like, if I need to change the address I am going to, will my daughter now see the GPS I am using instead of FINDING NEO? With everything I have read I would assume it would multitask like that, but I want to make sure b4 install.

Thank you so much for taking he time to help me with this.

mine is set up like that with a rear DVD/monitor, but with the bypass. I cannot say for sure right now whether or not I can Nav while a movie is playing up front. I am currently out of town until 2/16. I will try it when I get home.

it appears that you can bc you would use AV2 for the kids in the back. :)

I have the F900BT AU version installed without the bypass. I bought it without any research and didn't know about the bypass until I found this forum.

You can watch a DVD in the back while the GPS is running up the front. I use the car speaker to play the DVD over, you can also run the audio to the rear screens speakers if you have that facility I think. One problem you will find is the the unit mutes the DVD to give directions, but you can change this I think. Just search the forums.

You might want to do the bypass anyway if you want to beable to input any new addresses while driving. It's the only problem I have with the system because if I have a passenger with me, I still have to pull over to change the address I'm trying to get to. You can change the screen while the DVD is playing to the map or main menu and you'll still be within the law. Who would be watching a DVD while driving at 100kph I don't know but I suppose some muppet must have done it for them to screw the system down so much.

The unit is great though, and it's quite easy to navigate. I just booted into testmode for the first time and had no problem. Just make sure you read all the posts before trying things out.

Good Luck

The F-Series does not support multi-zone though, so whatever source is playing is what everyone in the car will be listening to. That means it's not possible to send the audio from the DVD to wireless headphones for the kids while listening to another audio source on the car speakers.

That's a pretty big problem for most people that don't want to listen to Dora the Explorer with their kids.
