Hi - newbie here,
I had a local Tweeter store install my Avic D3 about 1.5 yrs ago and from the very first day within 2 miles down the road I got a very loud feed back type noise - sounds electrical. Went back and by the time I got there it went away. They checked a few wires and told me until it does it in front of them they could not do anything. It got worse over time so I went to another Tweeter Store and they seemed like they knew what it was. They told me the Ford Radio was 12V and this is a 14V and since I had a factory sub woofer I neded a 14V resistor. Well that didnt do it...then they told me a few wires were loose. How can that be when I paid extra for a wire harness - they told me no wires would be cut it was a plug and play install....this way when and if I needed to put the old radio in they could hook it back up. Well fixing the loose wires didnt work - then they went out of business bankcrupt.
Recently I noticed when this feed back occured if I pushed the window washer button it stopped the noice? So I took it to a local retailer that sells the unit and they diagnosed that there where two RCA cables uncovered - he said they taped them up and I should be all set....nope still does it. After speaker to Pioneer they tell me its a defect that there is an internal ground issue with these units but I need to ship it to them to fix and it will cost a minimum of 200 to fix......WTF.
Does anybody know what this problem may be? Or can anybody tell me a good place to try in the Boston MA area? I am not the type to fix these things myself.
It doesnt matter if Im playing the radio, Ipod or Video - Please I need help
Thanks, John
