I hooked every thing up and I don't see the ipod option on the screen. Did I miss something.

Do you see EXT as one of the sources? When you plug in the ipod does it say Pioneer on the screen of the ipod?

Its does say anything on the ipod just the song . The ext buttons dimmed meaning I can't push them.

Are you using the pioneer ipod adapter? If you are, check the fuse in the yellow wire. Make sure the black wire is grounded. Also make sure the ipbus cable is plugged into the black port on the interface. May seem dumb, but also make sure the cable is making solid contact to the dock connector of the ipod.

I ve checked all of those things. the guy a cc said that I need to update my ipod. Is this possible?

That is a possibility which gen is it?

well I updated it and it still doesn't work.

YOur pod should work with that the, I'd say either something is not connected properly or something is wrong with the ipod interface.

My 30gig ipod worked without updating. Take it back to your circuit city guy and tell him he installed it wrong.

Well i talked to a tech from crutchfield and he walk me through some things but finally decided it was defective. So I will be getting another one this week.

i had the same problem with the ipod interface, it worked in the begining anf then it stopped!! Im taking it back. Im gonna connect a tv tuner with DVD/MP3 player and a MP3 cd changer and will just use that for now.
