I have installed the deck, done the mute wire change attempted the 128 mile software change but the deck read the file as having an error and would not install the update because of this. When I put dvd's in I get a "disc reading error 12" message. I dont have some of the options. The sd card will not update the unit. I have read and searched and have not found any answers. I tried everything that I could find.

do you have a f700? only 900 or 90 can read dvd's and error would mean a bad dvd drive but on a f700 means you could only play cd's

You indicated that you did the hardware bypass, and then tried to do the software bypass. You only need to do one or the other.
