I have the head unit for AVIC-N1 but do not have the hide away unit will the head unit still work without the hide away? Please let me know with any advice or help.

i tried the same thing because i was missing the 30 pin cable from head unit to hide away, but it didn't work, so no it won't work. i thought it would atleast let you play radio and cds.

What does the hide away unit look like? I bought a truck with the D1 in it but did not see a "hide away unit" when I was modifying my unit.
