Hey, I was just wondering if the knob can be removed with out damaging it? I want to remove it and install it every time I get in and leave my car.

I was in Best Buy several months ago and saw a D3 with the knob missing, so I know it can be taken off. It was a shaft/pin with a notch in it that, I'm guessing, the knob locked into place on. It didn't look like it was broken.

I'd like to take mine off and replace with an all black one.
