The older units used to have a screen that showed a sppedometer,,and a few trip meters..Is there any way to get this on the f500bt??

I think there are several mods similar to what you want, not sure where tho, the best thing is to do a search. Try doing it with one word in the 'search' title box, should cut down on the amount of unrelated topics you may be shown

He really couldnt've searched for this with good results because a)he didn't know the terminology for what he's looking for and b)it's not a widely discussed question either. I only read the FAQ once so I really don't remember what's on there, so if this is in there, shame on OP....but I digress. I'll be polite and Dumpy, it's not a cop-out 
OP, what you're referring to is called Vehicle Dynamics, that function is not available on the F Series. AFAIK it's on the Z Series and possibly the N/D series'.
