N-2 Whats up with the ipod controls or lack of?.......HELP

I used to have an N-3, now I have an N-2. I used to be able to search artists, read song titles, etc. with the ipod adapter (CDI100b or whatever). With the N-2 I cant see any of the songs, albums, anything other than the different playlists. My question is do I need some kind of firmware upgrade, or do I have to get a N-3 brain or what? BTW I have the updated map disc (80mpt) Someone please help, I have searched and found nothing yet......Thanks all :?:

you need the N3 brain or a newer deck. Keep in mind that the N2 is like four years old. Nothing interfaced with an ipod in 2005

yeah thats true...I just ordered the N-3 brain, should be here soon, do I need to update the head unit too, or just the brain. Thanks btw....

So do all the iPOD features work after adding the N3 brain to the N2 deck? I have the N2 setup right now with the iPOD adapter and hate how I cannot see any of the features in the screen or even charge the iPOD. Can someone clarify the benefits of adding the N3 brain? Thanks!
