Would like to install Z1 in 2006 Toyota Tundra Access Cab. Did a lot of research on what to buy and settled on the Z1. Crutchfield indicates it will not fit. Am a bit disappointed really liked the unit. Before i give up has anyone installed the Z1 in this truck and if so can you give me some idea of what needs to be done.
Will have it professionaly installed (if i can find one). Have considered Circuit City, but would like to have some options. Does anyone Know of a good one in the San Francisco Bay area.
Any information you can provide will help me in judging the installation price.

Crutchfield says the Z1 wouldn't fit in my Chev 2500HD either.

The only reason was because you havee to remove some plastic in the back to allow it to slide in deep enough. I'm not sure of the Tundra, but something like that may just be your problem. Very easy work around. I'm sure someone here will have a solution. They usually do.

Good Luck!

It will fit without muh hassle. Just make sure you get that metra kit. Crutchfield's fit guide still hasn't been completely updated for the popularity of double din units.

Crutchfield also told me that it would not fit in my Ridgeline. I guess they did not look behind the stock HU because there is plenty of room back there. I bought a kit and now I have a Z1.

Thanks to all of you that responded. Still have a question. Went to Metra and they showed part number 95-8202 which consists of 2 brackets. Hard to believe so i contacted their rep and got the same info. Is this all i need i.e. no faceplates/fillers etc. I want the install to look like a factory job.
For the Silverado and Ridgeline installs is this all you got?

yeah those 2 fillers are all you need. The opening in your truck with the exceptionof the sides is double din

Mine was the 99-2003.

Mine came with the face ring with a small bar through the middle, that I had to cut out, and to side brackets that snapped to the face ring and screwed to the Z1 and the dash. The brackets had several tabs on them, I had to decipher which ones to use and cut the rest off.

My dash has about a 1/4 to 1/2 space around the Z1 and the factory dash bezel. Without the face ring I would have a large gap.

How I found out what parts I needed, was research on this site and a visit to a local pioneer dealer/installer car audio shop. I had them right me up a quote, with all the part numbers on it. I then shopped around for the best deal, and ended up with a great looking install. I did buy most of the parts from the dealer because I felt it was the right thing to do for the information they provided me. They also helped me with good ideas to place all the other peripheral items.
