After much research and discussion I have come to the conclusion that my iphone 3G will not automatically connect to my pioneer CD-BTB100 bluetooth unit. I did register the phone and do all the necessary steps to make sure it worked correctly. It will manually connect either thru the unit. or thru the iphone. I did swap in the newer CD-BTB200 and it will automatically connect to the iphone. So my basic assumption is that if you want to automatically connect to the Pioneer unit you need to have the CD-BTB200. I hope this helps someone. It sure aggravated me until I was able to borrow a buddies and swap them out to make sure before I purchased the newer unit.
