Hi, I just bought a f700bt everything seems to be working great, except how do I get the unit to receive text messages for me using tts? My phone works perfect otherwise with it. THANKS!

If your phone supports it, it will tell you that you have a new message but it cannot display the message.

Are you serious? Pioneer never claimed the unit would be able to do that. Text to Speech doesn't mean Text Message to Speech, it's a navigation feature that allows the unit to speak street names. If you're honestly upset you should have done some more research before purchasing.

that is what I hearrrrd... but hell you cant beleive everything you hear... and I thought it would be cool.. but it's not going to ruin my day. So I'm really not worried about it, my phone works perfectly with it and by the sounds of it, I'm lucky.

Ford Sync to my knowledge is the only one that reads text messages.

But I can understand how you feel. When I saw this unit support speech recognition, I thought it was a cool feature. Then I learned it only worked on iPods, and not SD cards like I use.

I just double checked the manual and it does mention that if you select the voice with TTS capabilities, the audible message can be output. Check page 59 of the manual for the F700-900.

I haven't tried it yet.

An audible message that a text or voicemail has arrived. Mine says "You have got a message"
