I just gave up on doing the bypass, can I just pay someone to do it for me or maybe refer me to a shop who'll do it...thanks!

You'll be hard-pressed to find a shop that will be willing to do it, and if you DO find one that'll do it, there's a 95% chance they're going to screw it up.
I'm from the Oceanside/Carlsbad area, but I'm out of the country until August. If you're willing to wait that long, I could do it for you.
