Hey folks. I have a problem with video output on my iPhone 3G to the F90BT unit. The vehicle is an 04 escalade ext. The first aftermarket headunit was installed by a shop. I installed the F90 myself and tied into the work he did originally. I am using steering wheel controls through the SWI-PS unit and everything goes out to an amps, no sound gets output by the headunit directly.
The iPhone's audio and video cables are plugged into an AV input on a secondary DVD unit (A clarion DIN size unit). The DVD player then goes into AV1 input on the F90BT.
The DVD player on the F90 plays DVD's with no distortion in the video or audio. The secondary Clarion DVD player also plays DVD's with no audio or video distortion.
iPhone will output audio through the Clarion DVD to the F90 with no distortion. As soon as I plug in the video wire to the DVD player, there is a whistling/squeeling that comes from my speakers that gets higher with engine speed. It will also put "waves" through any video that I output through the iPhone.
I would assume everything is good after the Clarion DVD as it can put video out no problem. I've made sure none of the video wires are resting on any power wires, and followed the USB cable to the back of the radio making sure its not resting on any power wires.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be causing the feedback? It's not essential that I be able to play iPhone video (I have the SD card slot and Divx compatibility for that), but it bothers me that its not working right and it will eventually annoy me.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
