F90BT: AV2 Video with Ipod (AV1) Audio?

I have an Avic F90BT with an Ipod connected to AV1. I also have a car performance computer that supplies a video signal to AV2 and displays simulated gauges on the Avic. I would like to be able to listen to the Ipod while displaying the gauges so I split the Ipod audio and connected it to both AV1 & AV2. Unfortunately, the Avic pauses the Ipod when I switch to AV2 and also won't allow manual control from the Ipod itself. Does anyone have any ideas/strategies? My ideas so far:

1) Standalone Ipod for AV2 input

2) Use a manual video switch and put both videos into AV1

manual video switch is the best option. A good installer good wire up a relay and have it switch when you turn on the gauge unit...

Thanks for your input. That solution saves the front AV2 jack for other purposes as well.

I haven't customized RCA video cables before. Can I use a simple two position rocker switch? PIE makes a two channel RCA audio switch. Anyone know if that would work (would only use one of the channels).
