I have a F90Bt... The unit contiuely reboots over and over when i drive the vehicle. If i sit in the drive way in park the unit works great. I was on this site getting the info for the bypass which i installed corretcly. I just got back from Pioneer in Long Beach and the head tech said that the bypass is the reason for this problem. So i came back and uninstalled the bypass and reinstalled correctly per the manual and its still do the same thing continuely rebooting. I am so frustrated with this unit. I downloaded all the test mode files and the firmware again from pioneer. Once i put the in the unti i get the windows CE. I can not figure out how to manipulate the files to change the files out. Any help would be greatly appreciate it. anyone in So cal that can walk me through this
F90 BT
It almost sounds like you have a connection problem and not an issue with the unit. Verify your power and ground, wiggle the wires and see if it still has an issue.
With the unit on, try unplugging the antenna. The unit should not turn off. This will show if you have a bad ground connection.
A lot of people have also had luck reinstalling the 2.0 software. Plenty of threads about that.

By unplugging the antenna, you mean the radiop antenna correct??? Its just wierd cause the unit works great parked in the driveway. The moment i start driving the unit continuely reboots. I have tried to reinstall the 2.0 update but the unit won't pick it up because it has 2.0 in it already... I took the unit into pioneer this morning and they will look at it. I also spoke with my good friend, Darren Sprayberry, head installer @ Al & Eds Ontario and he said that he has encountered this problem twice before and they have had to just replace the unit.. So we'll see what pioneer says after i get it back.
I also had a F90 BT constantly rebooting. It didn't go beyond the splash screen, but lets say 1 out of every 20-30 reboots, all of the sudden it will boot completely and it will be completely functional. BUT, once I started driving beyond the 10 mph limit, there appeared a warning saying that my parking brake was improperly installed (i had the hardware bypass installed). No matter what I did next (pressing ok, or ignoring the warning) the unit ended up rebooting again, and the cycle started over. I tried everything, I undid the hardware bypass, i did the sftware bypass, checked for proper ground in parking brake cable, but no avail. It seemed that something had changed in the software, or perhaps something was interrupting the booting process.
I finally solved the problem by completely rewriting the software in the AVIC flash drive (thanks to another gsxr for the files!!). After that, and with no hardware bypass, the unit booted perfectly. It still showed the message that I had an improper connection in the parking brake, but this time it didn´t reboot, I just pressed OK, and continued to use the AVIC. Then, I did the software bypass and got rid of the warning message. I had no problems since.
In conclusion, it seems there are some units out there that somehow get corrupted or get an interrupting signal by using the hardware bypass. I know this sounds improbable, but how to explain that my unit started rebooting only after the warning message appears, and that I needed to completely rewrite the s/w and eliminate the h/w bypass. I guess the only way to be completely sure its to do the hardware bypass again on my unit and see if the rebooting starts again. Im just too happy now to be doing that in the near future. Hope this helps some of you still with this problem
Glad that my files worked for you Pablo, I've given a bunch of folks here access to copy the files. From the feedback I've gotten so far, reloading with my files has worked great for everyone.
Any other folks having issues and want to try reloading theirs, just PM me with a quick note and your e-mail address and I'll give you access.
FWIW, the only reason I need an email address is that I have the files at an online backup site, and they use the email as a log in.
I just got my unit from pioneer...... and everything is ok but I took out the hardware bypass.
I'm gonna have to call BS on the hardware bypass causing an issue. I installed my F700 in my 03 Tacoma (among the easiest installs around) and followed the hardware bypass thread with the photos. The only problem I've had with rebooting was caused by me adding an update to the speed/traffic cam DB that the format was AFU on some entries in the middle of the text file. Once I backed out the faulty DB, it went back to fine. Then I fixed the update and reinstalled, I did that about a month ago and it hasn't rebooted on me yet.
