Do you get clear FM reception?

If you get static-y FM reception, and just the noise from 'snow' on AM, then I would bet its a problem with the antenna.

Or the power antenna wire isn't hooked up in the harness. If it is try moving it to the red wire instead. Sometimes the power antenna lead of an aftermarket radio doesn't supply enough current to turn on the antenna amp in the car.

You can try what I said, but other than that I couldn't really tell you anything else to try. Well with the exception of getting sat radio.
