In my car the gauges are white when the headlights are off and light up green when the headlights are on. I bought a boost gauge that matches this color scheme (turns green when the headlights turn on, white otherwise), and it would be sweet if there was a way to make my AVIC do the same thing. Even though it's just the 3 buttons and the knob backlight that would change colors, it would be a cool effect I think.

 

I wouldn't mind doing the coding myself, but I guess the main question is, does the ILL signal get sent to the software, so that it could be used to manipulate the LED colors? If it isn't, is there an easy way to have the day/night mode of the nav maps also change the LED color? I was hoping someone who's familiar with the software might be able to point me in the right direction so I can get to work.

 

The ideal solution would be to have the ILL signal cause the maps to switch to night mode and also change the LED colors, but in case that isn't possible, a manual day/night mode switch on the map screen that also changes the LED color would work too.
