Is adjusting the volume range possible through a mod?

I just got done reinstalling my f700bt. I had a PAC speaker to line level converter on the speaker outs that was causing general problems with sound quality. This time, I removed the hi-lo converter and replaced the speaker connections on the car-side of the wiring harness with RCA plugs (They go to a stock Bose amp that wants a line level input), and plugged those into the pre-outs on the f700bt.

Music sound quality is now significantly improved, but I am now running into a different problem. The pre-outs on the f700bt aren't quite hot enough. I can listen at the upper end of the volume range, and it sounds quite good, but even after turning up the voice\call volumes to their maximum settings, they are just a bit too quiet to hear clearly.

Now, apologies if this was the wrong section for this thread, but it seems to me that the only way to adjust this any further is manually, through a configuration file. I'm wondering if this, in modders' experiences, is possible. Has anyone seen these variables? I've been reading a bit about modding the data.zip file, but haven't found mentions of sound level for these devices.

How high does the volume on these units go? I've only ever had it up to around 35.

I think it would be an extremely useful mod to get one "turn" of the knob to raise the volume 5 or 10 levels instead of just one at a time. You really have to crank that little knob a lot to get the volume to turn up, and down. For this reason I can see why people love the bigger knobs.

I hope this is possible.
