I am installing a Pioneer Z1 system in my 330xi. My question is this: I want to listen to sat radio while the kids watch DVD videos on the head rest monitors in back. How can I have the dvd sound go to wireless head phones. While we have sat radio or hard drive tunes play on speakers. I have a 04 suburban and its great, the kids watch dvd's with wireless head phones and we can listen to the sat radio. I'm hoping I can do this with the Z1? I have not purchased the headrest monitors. Do I need monitors with the rf out put or can the Z1 do it? Or maybe some adapter?

It can do it. Take the rear screen video out on the Z1 and run to the headrest monitors. Run the L/R audio out to the headphone system (you can buy RF or IR.) Put in your movie for the rear seat passengers and start playing. Go into the source menu and touch the rear screen button it until it reads DVD. The switch to whatever source you want to listen too (Tuner, CD changer, etc.)

The dvd continues to spin and play? How is that when I do it it always is at the same spot I left it at when I return to the dvd source. In addition, you obvously could not play a cd.

welp, apparently pioneer says it is possible, a setting does it... probably the enabling of rear monitor out but pioneer was unable to tell me for sure.

Yes that is what does it, enabling the rear monitor and telling it that it's source is the DVD (your other option is Mirror what it on the Z1's screen). If you mirror the Z1's screen, then a dvd will stop when you go off dvd to another av mode. If you have the rear monitor set to dvd as the source it will continue to play when you change av mode.

That is true, you can play any other source. If you played the CD once before it could have transfered itself to the hard drive and you can play it from there.

OK I figured it out. The Z1 has rear video output with sound. Any suggestions on a wireless head phone set up. I have looked on some stereo sites and have not found much for this application.
