Hi all,

I've been using the F900BT unit for around 3 months now, without any problems or glitches. The install was done by my cardealer, and is completely standard, except for the hardware bypass for navigation and viewing dvds.

It ran fine for the entire period, up until 3 days ago, when I started getting an input/output error for the Germany-map. I do not know why this is happening. I live in the Netherlands, close to the German border. However, when I tried to navigate to my girlfriends house this afternoon, I found that the unit would not calculate the route to her house. It froze on several occasions, everytime on a different moment, but it could never complete the route-calculation.

The system froze, then a windows error popup-box mentioned the input/output error regarding the German map, and then the system reboots. Well, it seems to reboot anyway. It is displaying the NavGate splash-screen, however, the music _never_ stops playing.

The problem is, that my girlfriends house is not located in germany. If anything, from my house to her house is AWAY from Germany. It has always worked fine. The strange thing is, that this problem does not happen to every destination. I can have the unit plan a route to several other locations, so I can't find any similarities between destinations that end up with the mentioned error.

Has anyone experienced any of this, or something similar to this, before? I can always go back to the dealer or contact Pioneer, but I was wondering if there might be anything that I can do myself before contacting the cardealer or Pioneer? I don't have the exact error message at the moment, but since I assume that it would help, I will write down the error in the morning, and than post it here.

Many thanks in advance.

I have the exact same problem with my BT900. Was installed on thursday and had that error ever since. I tried resetting it and I also tried deleting the GPS files as Vegas explained but it didn't solve the problem. Will contact the dealer/pioneer tomorrow. I never would have expected this unit to be such a piece of sh... .

here is a screenshot... error comes up and the nav reboots itself. Radio keeps playing though.

This is indeed the error that I get too. I have noticed something strange. When I'm at home, I can no longer plan any route to anywhere. Let's say I want to start from my house (A) to destination (B). I can NOT calculate this route. It will reboot.

However, when I am at location B, and want to go to A, then it IS possible to calculate the route. However, when driving, as soon as I am about 20km away from my destination, the error will pop up again, causing the unit to reboot, but when it comes back, it will continue navigation as if nothing happened?

I reallllly don't get this. I have not rebooted it yet (using the little hole you mean?) because I was afraid I would lose all my speedcams and phone contacts and what not, but I just don't get this freakin' problem!

This problem is caused by the german TMC. At Pioneer.de or .eu you can download a update to 2.000500, after that your unit runs again, although there is so much shi... in this unit!
