Ok heres the deal...

In the UK, a F900 is around £750 which converts to approx $1100. This is standard price and as you can see we get royally ******* up the ****.

Now I buy a F90BT though amazon.com from 5th Avenue Electronics, including shipping to the UK for approx £466 so thats nearly £300 saving.

Now add on the guaranteed VAT, 15%, £70, now comes to £535 (price of an F700 here), Customs Duty is around 7% so thats now £570 approx. So still nearly £200 saved over a F900. Looks like a deal to me. Now I have an F900 EU version. Could I backup the F900 and blow it into the F90? Is the software the same.

Any help is appreicated.

If you search this site, you will find a lot of info on this.

Biggest drawback will be that the FM radio of a US version will not function correctly in Europe, it only steps in odd increments, i.e. 90.3, 90.5, 90.7 etc., meaning you will not be able to receive a number of radiostations. Also there is no RDS, and because of this, also no TMC and traffic redirect.

This is caused by hardware differences between the units, and so cannot be solved by software hacks.....

Ahh ok I hadn't thought of that. Balls to it then, guess i'll have to stick to the rip off UK versions :(

I use TMC all the time, thanks for the info.
