I would like to just hook the reverse wire up to a switched +12VDC and have the rear view camera available all the time because I tow with my Navigator and would like to be able to check on the load from time to time going down the road. Is the reverse wire able to accept a a straight switched +12VDC all the time?

just hook it to a switched 12v where your key is on.

you can access the back up camera screen at any time cant you? i thought it was just an input selection.

unless you are talking about the camera itself and you want that turned on all the time.
